10 times the Ha'penny Bridge looked only feckin' gorgeous

You’d never guess she was 200 years old.

DUBLIN’S HA’PENNY Bridge is 200 years old today, and still looks as good as it did when it was built in 1816.

The bridge has a special place in Dubliners’ hearts, and for good reason – here are 10 times it’s proved that to us.

When Phil Lynott gave it a starring role in the video for Old Town

And a young U2 pranced across it

Every time you’ve had to take a massive stride to get down the huuuuge steps

And stopped so tourists could get a photo of the view

But it’s cool because hey, it’s the Ha’penny Bridge.

And gawked at the forbidden love locks

Or simply paused for a moment to take in another ridey Dublin sunset

The best place to do it (until you get swept up in a crowd of pedestrians).

Or a Dublin rainbow

Or a particularly lovely Dublin night

When it was just a young bridge…

Happy 200th Birthday to the Ha'penny Bridge. Built in 1816, the #HapennyBridge was the first pedestrian bridge to cross the River Liffey in Dublin. #Dublin #Ireland #HappyBirthday #bridge #architecture #architecturelovers #RiverLiffey #Liffey #instacity #instaireland #insta_ireland #citylife #history #irish #birthday #igdublin #igersdublin #dublincity #lovindublin Instagram / kkproduce Instagram / kkproduce / kkproduce

…And today, on its 200th birthday

The bridge was decorated with flowers and a bright red carpet in honour of the day – doesn’t it look wonderful?
